Autobahn Youth Scholarship Tour Class Structure

Junior Females – Born 120 days from the date of the show through July 1 preceding calendar year of show. The classes to be determined by entries received, youngest to oldest with no more than 10 in a class.

Intermediate Females – Born June 30 preceding calendar year of show through September 1 second preceding calendar year of show. The classes to be determined by entries received, youngest to oldest with no more than 10 in a class.

Senior Females – to be split with no more than 10 in a class
Born May to August second preceding calendar year of the show
Born January – April second preceding calendar year of the show
Born third preceding calendar year of the show.

Bulls – Born 120 days from the date of the show through September 1 second preceding calendar year of the show. The classes to be determined by entries received, youngest to oldest with no more than 10 in a class.

Junior Steers – Born 120 days from the date of the show through January 1 preceding calendar year of the show. The classes to be determined by entries received, youngest to oldest with no more than 10 in a class.

Senior Steers – to be split with no more than 10 in a class
Born July – December second preceding calendar year of the show
Born January – June second preceding calendar year of the show
Born third preceding calendar year of the show.

Showmanship – Each of the 4 age divisions will be split into 2 heats for a total of 8 classes. In showmanship competition, you must exhibit an animal shown in the same Autobahn Youth Scholarship Tour show. The showmanship divisions are as follows:

Junior – age 7 – 9 as of January 1 calendar year of the show

Intermediate – age 10 – 12 as of January 1 calendar year of the show

Teen – age 13 – 15 as of January 1 calendar year of the show

Senior – age 16-18 as of January 1 calendar year of the show.

All Around Exhibitor
The top “All Around” high point exhibitor in each of the 4 divisions of showmanship will receive scholarship money.

Points are accumulated by participation in the following events: Showmanship, Art Contest or Shop Projects, Speech Contest, Extemporaneous Essay Contest, Livestock Judging and Short Course Quiz.

Within each division of showmanship, points will be awarded as follows: 10 or more in a class; 1st place is awarded 10 points, 2nd – 9 points, 3rd – 8 points, etc. 10th place and below will all receive 1 point. If there are less than 10 in a class the points will be pro-rated for example; if there are 6 in a class 1st place would receive 6 points, 2nd place 5 points etc. Points will be awarded in this manner for showmanship, speech contest, essay contest, livestock judging and short course quiz. All participants in the Art Contest or Shop Projects will be awarded 10 points.

The maximum number of points eligible is 60.
